drop at any dnb rave and it is going off, end of. that is all that matters!

You know, at the time this was released I absolutely LOVED this record as Aphrodite was the king of Jump-up at the time however, listening to it now it hasn't aged all that well and I am amazed at how simple it is but then, Aphrodite was pretty much following a formula at this point and it was a great formula for sure. I sold my copy of this recently as well as the remixes as I hadn't played it in nearly 20 years so it was time for someone else to enjoy it and thats what the song is for, enjoyment. Pure, unadulterated enjoyment as not everyone wants to stand around and wax philosophical on the dance floor all the time.

I bet hardly any of these ponces went raving! Probably a load of snobby armchair Junglists who never went raving and saw everyone actually dancing to this TUNE...
Simple fellow
This era was the death of jungle for me. Terrible track.

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews on this. Sure it's not great but not that bad either it is a pretty decent filler in my opinion will sit nicely next to something like super sharp shooter or urban style music...worth getting for a couple of quid
Zut
Gonna revive this for the Summer and make dancefloors Great again!!!Tune If ever there was one bside is better though...
Negal
$2 record; 'nuff said, you get what you pay for...
Minnai
Yes this tune is cheese and reminds me of a lot of the cheesy quaver nights at Desire @ The Island, all the new emerging quavers in their Iceberg thinking they really were BADASS! But I admit I skanked to it a few times if the mood was right and the DJ didn't play it too long but just used it as a bridge. Do you want it? Probably not! Do you need it? Defo not! But if you like to complete your collection and get it out for a laugh one night at a home party with friends who know all your dark secrets anyway then go ahead and buy it. But don't pay over a quid for it!
Kazimi
LOLOLOL!!!! True spit. Seems I was 100% correct on my review...

BAD ASS!!! - Samples used come from the film South Central (1992) - a party classic but prefer the flip
Bluddefender
Fact - Aphrodite wrote this because he didn't have a copy of Quest by Shimon and Andy C.
Datrim
No, he wrote almost all of his music because he didn't have a copy of Quest. XD
Xtintisha
Yeah probably out of the loop on getting the decent plates
Angana
Sure it is Jump Up. VERY Jump Up... but I think there is a reason DJ Hype mixed this into his Jungle Massive compilation. This tune was a new sound when it released all the way back in 96! When mixed in the right way, I think this would destroy a dance floor of even the most purist Junglists.
Camper
Mate, there was way better tunes from '96... I bought this by mistake in '96. There was still plenty of that true blue DnB b-boy flavor in back in '96, though it was harder to find and from there on was a decline until about 2001. There was a good bit of dark tech step around that time I think would have been much better invested $$$... and no, this will NEVER "destroy" any dance floors, other than by clearing them out maybe. This record is a bit of joke mate. There is no intelligence, or passion in this one. The only use is for a "gag" type mix between friends. There are thousands of better tracks than this to spend money on. Guess I'll never be able to convince all the loyal fans. Save your money!!!! 8 ]

Seems to divide opinion, Bad Ass! used to send the floor mental, I really like Drop top Caddy, sure its not Photek dude, but it was good tune for the dance floor and still enjoy listening to it now. Finn & Aphro' you can't go wrong!
Wenes
Yeah old Finn & Aphro from '93-'94 you can't go wrong...............................................................................................................................................

Essential jump up tune that used to smash up the dance back in 96-97, as anyone around at the time will tell ya. Just check out Mickey's Roast 5th birthday bash set. The flip is equally as good and was also rinsed out by the likes of Hype and Nicky Blackmarket back in the day. Stone cold classic!

@bobreakz : Why are you talking to me like that, telling me what to do... you must got some nerve on you little internet man. And then calling me majestic, yet faintly ridiculous? You know how dumb you just sounded? I think it is time you to take a good step back, and just step off.For one, don't involve yourself in other people's sales and/or monetary affairs. It is rude to say the least. Most folks don't like that... especially since it was not a privately sent message. Number two, this is a music review site & comment area, and I say this tune is weak. And yeah, I put $900, or 'Best Offer'... and then I also went on to say that I will match anyone else's price in the world! You failed to mention that didn't you... You also failed to mention that all my other listings are "normal", and fairly priced; often the lowest, or competitively priced.Next time, pay more attention before opening your majestically ridiculous mouth about things you don't know about and should have understood in plain English. Moving on to another topic now... Honestly, your must be joking m8, trying to get a reaction... Well you got one coming because comparing this to "Remarc - Help Me!"... Either, YOU are the joke, or must be just joking for real. Either way, your comparison did make me laugh though... so kudos for that one after bad mouthing me by getting your facts wrong; it cheered me up.Everyone on Discogs that reads this will hear my side of the story; how you publicly involved yourself in other Discogs members' sales/business, and how you slammed my review based on inaccurate and misleading information. You then stoop so low and try and accuse me of being "On something"? Are you a raver? GTFO here w/ that boolshiett!!!!!
Chillhunter
I have to disagree that the flip is equally good...
Goldfury
I have to disagree that the flip is equally good...

you calm down mate, you just jumped on this jump up tune with so much exaltation like you are on something…Probably you are...sound so unrealistic re:Remarc - Help me.Last month you were selling it for 120 dollars, four weeks after for $900?? Yeah, that sounds starkly majestic yet faintly ridiculous! Time to come down my dear. These copies are selling for 50-60 and we all know that. There will be few people willing to sell for this price and more people who will pay same...
Kizshura
Sorry, I just can't stand this one. I will go out of my way to write bad reviews about it. I hated it then, and hate it now till I die........................................ There are SOOOOO many other tunes that I got straight love for. Tunes that got heart, soul, honor, strength, blood, sweat, and tears... to die for.... This one doesn't fit the bill.
Nidora
Complete Weak Sauce. One of the worst Garbage jump up tunes ever to be pressed on vinyl. Nothing but a silly wobbler bass and a single monotone two step drum "beat" throughout the entire track (more like half-step). The only dance people do to this is the running man and I wouldn't be caught dead playing this in a set. Just my opinion. All who disagree are probably, quote me, "New Bootie" Drum 'n Bass heads whom I encourage to go ahead and BUY it so you can dance the "running man". Pure garbage. ps Sorry Aphrodite. What happenned?? Your first couple of handful of releases were great...
Doulkree
@Wolfy666 : He was only called that after this release came out because people were highly disappointed. It sounded funny hearing that growing up (when this came out)... But he still gets all his respect back. The other tunes I mentioned offered much needed redemption! And the older jungle styled tunes created vibes and memories off the charts. A lot of newer styled DnB heads may never get it... Can't fix that, and I will not try. To each their own as they say. Note that there are plenty of other Artists that get just as much props and respect as Aphrodite, maybe even more... Like REMARC, and hundreds of others...

LMFAO, really?????

Sho' you right m8!

I agree that musically this is not a great production; what makes this song what it is are the samples from the movie which are thrown exactly at the right moments making it the famous jump up (or whatever) drum n bass track it is.If you remove the voice samples yes it's a very amateurish song IMO.

i feel the same way about Aphrodyke he did 1 or 2 good tunes and then it all turned to lame ali g styled bullshit
