Following l'Infonie's four long plays (now all highly coveted by collectors) , co-founder poet-composer Raôul Duguay went on to record several solo long plays that spanned Infonie-inspired progressive psych madness....to avant-garde weirdness....to soothing New Age. Between his last progressive Art-Rock recording ("On s'm O Kebec") and his milestone first New Age effort ("Douceur"), Raoul Duguay recorded this little obscurity, "Le Chanteur de Pomme" (English translation: "The Apple Singer").......his only attempt at a full album's worth of more pop-flavoured, radio-friendly compositions. While all songs are well written and instrumentally strong, it simply didn't fit with Duguay's established recording character (i.e., "weird" and experimental).....and it was consequently largely ignored both by buyers and radio stations.......making it one of his more difficult-to-find LPs today. Yet Duguay's eclectic persona is still present here, and his l'Infonie-period obsessions (eg., the number "3") are again evident everywhere......beginning with his own private custom record label (Les Disques 33), the unique album number ("T-3333") and the LP's a/b sides (Side 1 and Side 3) !!!* The LP holds the distinction of being the only album ever released on this label Raoul Duguay (vocals, compositions, lyrics), UZEB's Paul Brochu (drums), additional vocals from Estelle Ste-Croix (Eternité, Harmonium, Octobre) and Johanne Blouin (Organisation "C"), Jimmy Tanaka (keyboards, percussion, guitar), Robert Cohen (guitars), violinist André Proulx (Plume, Dompierre), Claude Arsenault (bass), Jeff Fisher (Jupiter-8 synth) and Richard Provencal (drums).
