Interpol - Marauder mp3 album

Opaque red vinyl shipped from Matador's store, not Interpol's own. Side A sounds superb, but side B has the same issue everyone else is having; the whoosing sound. It appears only during quiet registers anyway. It starts at the end of NYSMAW and continues at said registers until the beginning of It Probably Matters. Number 10 also sounds quite bad. $21.91 (the shipping is included in that) seemed suspiciously cheap for a colored vinyl.As for the album itself, it's great! The mp3 download card is a very nice touch, as always.EDIT: I originally noted that the other vinyl releases of this album were fine and would probably not have the whoosing sound. Apparently they are suffering the same fate as this one. Getting a Marauder pressing that isn't defective seems to be tricky at this point.

I actually was told matador knew of this issue with the defect so they tested certain ones and they happened to send me out a defect free copy. I would ask them to see if you could get a copy without the b side issue.

jadarin70 I'm getting that whoosing sound on the cream recordl half way through the second side....Is seems to be potluck at the moment with the quality of each pressing....Unbelievable that this got through test pressings.... Seriously? I've always had high expectations for Matador so to see this happening really makes me disappointed in them. Especially when it's affecting one of their most prominent artists.

My matrix codes are not the ones listed here. Also on the plastic warp there's a barcode sticker that says OLE-1124-8 and the vinyl is translucent red and in the picture seems opaque. Are they maybe two kinds of red vinyl edition or what?

Record is great, very grit sounding and a huge improvement over El Pintor. Major bummer is that my copy got majorly damaged from transit. My Corners were super bent on the jacket and inner sleeve, bent up actually and from the track Number 10 and on, there is a major audible warbly whooshing noise. I am thinking it is a off center side b? Is anyone else having that issue? I have spoke to another person on reddit and they too have the same audio problem. I am in the process of getting a replacement shipped out to me, I actually had to take the record off after the track number 10 because of the whooshing on every revelation from track 10 and on. Also I am wondering about this translucent red or opaque mystery here too... I received a opaque copy and I ordered from Matador Store, not Interpol's band site. Maybe the translucent ones were only available via the band ?

Mine came with bent corners too, haven't taken the plastic off.. contemplating sending it back.

Yeah my replacement copy has the same issue with side B. Avoid this version of the album with all costs.

I have the same problem on side B, from "number 10" to "party's over".

Have you emailed Matador about it? They sent me out a replacement and I should be getting it by Friday this week.

Opaque Red or Translucent Red? Mockups seems translucent like El Pintor but pics seem to be opaqueEdit: mine came in, it is opaque. Seems like translucent comes from the band’s website directly and opaque from matador.

It's got the whooshing sound and honestly, the entire album sounds like a tenth-generation cassette copy. It's really grainy with no depth of sound at all. I've emailed Matador and requested a replacement.

Side B is a mess. Tons of noise which is VERY audible.

Mine is opaque and I ordered mine from the Matador Record Store, but I do have a issue with Side B that starts on the track Number 10. Is anyone else getting a whooshing sound interfering with the rest of side b? Side A of my copy was perfect but it sounds like side b was off centered.

mine is clearly translucent, its different from the one in the pic. i got it from the interpolnyc.com website like 5 min after it was available for preorder (ARTIST STORE RED VINYL LP). maybe a 6th version? maybe the artist store LP is different from the one of the matador shop?

I’ve just received mine. It might be only for the US edition. Mine is clear/translucide red as on the official band pic.

Youre right it comes off translucent in the official band pic but it seems opaque as hugot said and it seems white from fan pics when that official pic showed a cream color

Please don't quote me on this lol but: I came across a different picture of it the other day (I believe it was their Instagram story feed) and that picture made it seem more in the translucent range than the opaque one IMOI'll try to find this pic somehow...
