this record has been so satisfying the handful of times i've thrown it on since i got it. i'm listening to it at 33 plus a little right now for the first time, and it's just as enjoyable as i'd expected.this feels like so much of what i've enjoyed about laurel halo's post-quarantine stuff, with just as much groove, but a bit more emphasis on the weird feints and constructions, plus some of the extra-loopy drum machine and delay acrobatics that i've been enjoying from people like pearson sound the last couple years.and all so rich and warm. much like "chance of rain", it feels like a treat to get it for the holidays (i guess it came out in early fall, but i just picked it up).
