Grinin
A wonderfully fun romp of an album! Seems a bit disjointed on first listen, but coalesces into catchy memorables on subsequent passes. It reminds a lot of HAT, but Ondas has more going for it. Stereo Kiss gives us funky Lisa Carbon melodies and Atom noodling. Holy Microwave has a great tropical, latin, distant air. Its second half sneaks in a more somber, subtle tone that reminds me of the best parts of Flowerhead.Good Vibe is very much on the Inoue-FAX tip. Light, swirling chime and squeak sounds dance around for 7 minutes. Onsurf goes jazzy, like something out of Jet Chamber. Eternal Frequencies has a wonderful flair to it that I don't think I could even begin to describe. There are a few oddball tangents smattered here and there, like some guy talking about a girl, kitchen sounds, lo-fi casiotronics, and a bizarre lip-trumpet solo.No particular standout track, and no clinkers. Just a solid, fun album from beginning to end. Definitely a standout for 90's Atom. The Daisyworld (non-sampler) version is effectively the same as the RI release, so pick your poison and go track this down!
