Apop is far from any cover band but they have released a good deal of cover songs over the years, either as b-sides or on special compilations. This can be called the ultimate collection of Apop cover songs, and it even has a few new ones specially recorded for the album. As the name suggests, this is a diary of songs that have in some way influenced or inspired Stephan Groth and inherently shaped Apop's sound and how it has evolved and it's a great way of showing his appreciation for his inspirators.A good showcase of Apop's ability to take a song by an artist and somehow make it their own song entirely. Especially Bizarre Love Triangle seems to somehow have a very personal meaning for Stephan and you can definitely hear it, as instead of trying to make it a dance pop song like the original, he treats it like a tender piano ballad and it comes off beautifully.Definitely a gem for any Apop fan who wants to see where Stephan comes from musically.
