I originally sought out this album because the members of De Facto are associated with the Mars Volta. It features Omar Rodriguez Lopez, Jeremy Michael Ward, Cedric Bixler Zavala, and Isaiah Ikey Owens. This music is very different from the progressive and experimental rock that these guys are making now. This album falls under that genre of Dub or Club music. This band has much more of an electronica background and they achieve a very laid-back and relaxed feeling that draws heavily upon Reggae music stylings, featuring a Reggae/Dub bass and beat. All of the tracks on this album are in this style, and they almost blend together as one big track as you can get lost in the hypnotic drum beat. Several of the tracks were recorded live, and, surprisingly, the quality (both recording and musical) are both as high as the studio tracks.I wouldn't recommend this for anyone searching for Mars Volta or At the Drive In material, it's sort of the missing link between At the Drive In and the Mars Volta. If you are really into Side Projects, or are a completist, than check this out, because it is some really original and relaxing music!
