Sure it might not use the master tapes or whatever. But at least they EQd it better than the first UK press making this a better sounding version in my mind actually. And yes, I have both. Not bad sounding, but a little bit muddy and murky. Could use remaster like whole WA catalog on CD. Pity that only Argus was remastred. (not counting japanese relases here)

I honestly expected much more from a first press here, but sadly there is not much delivery in terms of HiFi. The album resides near exclusively in the mid or mid low range, giving a very enclosed and veiled sound. No great dynamics or moments of impact to speak of either. To get the best sound you really need to crank the volume on this, making worse playing and crackly copies all but unbearable. Luckely mine is more than decent but for some reason there is still a medium level surface noise after RCM cleaning. They cant have used very good vinyl for this so dont be too disappointed if your copy looks great but plays a little noisy on the quiet parts. There really is no bass to speak of at lower volumes and the drums, especially cymbals are a joke.Lackluster sound, poor pressing and really not cheap in good condition. Sorry to hear you're not happy with the sonics. My tiny 25 watter (Croft) driving my ancient Castle Howard's certainly shows the album in a good light. In fact the complete opposite of what you're experiencing! Looking at your system I can see why though I'm not familiar with the speakers. I'd hazard an educated guess that they are the weak link.......If you would like me to attemp and refute your claim I could very easily go try the record on some much more expensive gear. Its not the most impressive setup and the speakers are about 400€ a pair at retail, but Im quite sure that they are not the cause for the sound.Its not like this is the only record I have, I review many and a lot of them can sound fantastic. Not this one however, and Im only changing the record, not the equipment.

To me, one of the best albums ever cut.....just freakin' awesome.......very under rated group.

The title of track 3 on some releases is "Errors Of My Way" however it can appear as "Error Of My Ways" as well. Wishbone Ash website lists it as Errors of my Way

First album from the twin guitar kings and still a stonker now. From the rocking opener to the folk-inspired error of my ways its one of their best offerings. The epic Phoenix is still a live favourite - listen to the dub reggae version on Spirit of 66 Live DVD. Also listen to Alice Cooper's Halo of Flies on the Killer album and hear who was inspiring who.5/5 based on comparison with other WA releases.
