Cargahibe
Anyone who experience this album may inmediately get acquainted of the rich work that is in their hands, the vast effort employed to join metal architecture with folklore, tribalism and ambience without falling into stereotypes or clichéd notions is remarkable and reminiscent from their past. And we may think it would be relatively easy to do so, considering the members implicated coming from bands as Negura Bunget, which is somehow emblematic within the ranks of folkloric metal. But in reality what we see is that the work is so monumental in a way that it start to lack support in order to maintain its own heavyness.Observing particularly the aspect that there is no real discernible metal style employed, as theres aspects both from black and death metal presented randomly and while the arrangements are fine there are not super elaborated structures present, in fact most of the time theres only one guitar playing both rhythmically and melodically while the tribal rhythms and the synths get along.I would say the work is mostly atmospherical with leanings towards folk without been too pompous, but its in the atmospherics and the tribal-chanting focused parts in where the work achieves its best moments. And when it forgets to mix the two and gets either just too atmospheric or just too "metal" it tends to become monotonous. But it would be unfair not to remark the fact that the atmospheric background created via synths, tribal chants and rhyths is not the best from the work and the ace of the album, while perhaps the metal part is more likely poor in comparision and has only brightness when joined together. Its a good album, very promising of future deliveries.
