Hunting Songs has a beautifully haunting sound. Low key, melodic but original. The EP feels like something familiar yet entirely unique. The 10" EP is lush, rich, and warm. It is one of the best sounding records I have heard. A tip of the hat to Cory Allen for getting everything right. Kudos are due to Punctum Records for getting the pressing right: heavy vinyl that is flat and on center. A lot of other small labels could take a page from Punctum's book. This may be one of my favorite records. I can imagine playing it so much that I wear it out. This is truly an outstanding release.
