Tadd Mullinix - Panes mp3 album

PANES, sadly, is the last we've heard from Tadd Mullinex in a while, but the glitchy, subdued title track has a haunting quality as it wobbles into life with a distorted vocal to add gravel. "Shaven Glass" is all about its feedback tones, but the shuffling groove of "Exchanging Modes" gives that track a certain gravitas, which is only amplified by the harpsichord synths that come in halfway through. The melody meanders on "Inch," a wandering that continues onto "Sealed," but the acid of "Alternating Currents" lands a more powerful punch. An interesting mini-album here, even if a tad too esoteric.
