Beautiful album. It's not monotonous, quite varied inded. This is very melodic instrumental music, not dissimilar to some movie soundtracks, and actually most tracks are initially library music or music to documentaries, in a romantic vein, melancholy, joyful, slightly dark and even quite powerful sometimes, but mostly, it's based on lush strings. A suite has got occasional eastern flavours. One piece has got Lucie Crow, an opera soprano. It's probably one of Anthony Phillips' most inspired albums of the last 20 years and it's a shame the 2 musicians had to produce it themselves.
