I could not get past Side B of "Aaliyah", despite her pretty face. The subject matter was unrelatable, and the minute that I read the liner notes and found she did not write one song, my dissapointment lead to me turning off the record. I listen to LP's for stories, how can I believe in your storytelling abilities if you did not write the chapter? The only reason I listened to "Aaliyah" for as long as I did was because of Timbaland`s experimental sound, but even those instrumentals could not save my attention. Overhyped and bland narrative-wise; unbelivable in the worst way ( I just cannot believe no man not wanting to have his hands on Aaliyah at all times, as refrenced in "I Care 4 U")- "Aaliyah" was a mistake for me to ever put my ears to, in the same vein as the LPs contemporaries (i.e. Britney Spears' "Greatest Hits"; "Dangerously In Love"; ""Crazy Sexy Cool"), just not my thing.
