Abdulla Rashim - Asayita mp3 album

B1 is the best. A is interesting but too slow. B2 is too dry.

A side all the way. Sophisticated use of textural atmospheres, deep and haunting beat and bass line. One of Rashim's best. B side is somewhat more on the trademark Rashim sound and are interesting in their own way, but they are overshadowed by Asayita 1.

Love the A-Side of this release in particular. Anyone notice that the hats on this track seem to be a bit sharper / drawn out than the digital audio in the YouTube clips on the right? Have listened to a couple of pressings to verify this.

I wouldn't use Youtube as a reference - it really mangles audio during compression especially the higher frequencies.

I can confirm this, first I thought I just had my treble cramped too high but after brushing the record and putting all settings to default on the mixer the hats still stroke a bit too loud for my tastes, amazing record otherwise though.

Maybe you've got sound of inner groove distortion because of a lot of sidechained white noise in this track... I have the same, even after careful cartridge alignment :(
