Freaky Hook
The vocal between the tracks is Mad Mike. Talking about the formation of Underground Resistance.

One of the most overlooked records that I know of. Top class well crafted trax all the way on both sides. "Ocean Deeper" is a true master piece.

The vocal at the start of A2 seems to be Ron Trent. Production wise I could easily imagine this as his too.Note that side A also has a short interlude track between the credited tracks here

A very nice tribute album to the futuristic sound of Detroit. its somewhat of a mystery who City 2 City is but I can imagine its a known name and if not, they have been studying and listening to Detroit techno for many years, perfecting it for startup release. This one aims at the heart, the softer side. Playful, wonderful and gentle strings on All the Time. It could be said that this track isn't much different than many 2000-2005 similar European artists' doing a Detroit track but listen more carefully to the nuances in each sound. There is another level here to them that makes me feel this hits a more classic sound. A very nice song in Ocean Deeper also. Bassline moves the track out of the murky ocean depths to a fantastic melody build. Sublime. One of the deepest most emotional Detroit tracks I have heard in a long, long time. Black Planet's percussion tries to hold the track into the house genre as much as possible while being futuristic is worth noting. Again, allot of nuances of the sounds set this apart from the average similar. I am still debating whether City 2 City theme and Black Planet are worth playing. Maybe they suffer from an overdose of Detroit. Maybe they are overshadowed by the other side. Maybe they will sit it one day. However again, the B-side is enough to give this a max rating. Maybe these 4 tracks should have been split on 2 records. While it gives it a good variety it's theme isn't as consistent Check out the B-side and specifically Deeper Ocean.
