Three LP's in box with glossy 36-page 12 x 12 booklet including many illustrations and photographs.
Cover of box and booklet credit only "The Canadian Opera Company," for which (at this time) Discogs includes specific ensembles but no collective identity exists at this time.
Specific artists and ensembles are named in booklet interior. Only a selection of the numerous credits have been provided here.
Cover and booklet proclaim:

HISTORICAL RECORDING / 23 OCT. 1975 / ENREGISTREMENT D'ARCHIVES"
Book inside back cover lower left: (c) 1975 CBC Radio

Matrices Markings:
-"QU" denotes Quality Recordings Limited
- "ᕋ" appears like a "G" with the final turn down and long rather than up, but also resembles the italic S also observed elsewhere. It appears frequently on Centredisc releases mastered by McClear Place.
- "X.P." is also associated with McClear Place masterings
Centrediscs became the primary source of Canadian Contemporary Classical releases in the 1980's.
This packaging of this production is remarkable for the lack of prominence given to any of the vocalists. The entire cast is identified on page 12 of the booklet, but this is practically the only reference to any performers by name. It has been packaged to emphasize its collaborative nature as an ensemble work.
Historical Context:
This work speaks to major figures and historical events in the emergence of Canada as a nation and was premiered on the Canadian Centenary Year . It's 1975 performance in Washington marks a coming out for Canada as a nation of cultural significance in the world of contemporary classical music. Judging from the representation of Canadian composers in the Discogs universe at this time, the assumption that Canadians are little more than hewers of wood and drawers of water (or oil) apparently still lingers 50 years later.
