"Nicci Cheeks Presents Hip Hop Love Jazz" has presented many a challenge in capturing the true essence of JAZZ woven with anecdotes of love, and fusing it in many ways, shapes or forms by the creative genius of hip hop artists of our contemporary era. This body of work has taken me to new levels of realization as to how far hip hop has become removed from the elementary sequences and syncopations of music, which gave rise to those original 'breaks' and 'beats' we know and love. Duke Ellington or John Coltrane, Oscar Peterson or Miles Davies - JAZZ has journeyed through time with an elegance and mysterious curiosity that we can only hope to aspire to measuring up to as hip hop artists and entrepreneurs.
