This might be a strange thing to say in 2013, but this album is one of my all-time favourite 80s new age/smooth jazz releases. I have a soft spot for this kind of music when it's done well -- something about the mix of beautiful melodies and old synths does it for me every time -- and you won't find a better example than this. It's a perfect blend of new age and smooth jazz, featuring a good helping of smooth sax solos, and moods ranging from upbeat to haunting. Most importantly the melodies are gorgeous from start to finish, with a number of hooks that get stuck in my head for days. If you're a sucker for this kind of music like I am, then I recommend keeping your eyes open for this album in the $1 bins.

Right on! I too love "some" new age/smooth jazz from the 80's ... and this is a fantastic reference album to see what any sound system is capable of. The three contributing factors are: creative soundscapes, masterful sound engineering, and quality pressing. This is the kind of album that can capture the heart of people who don't dig this kind of music. It has it's place, but the sheer quality can make you fall in love with your audio system again.
