The style of this tape should read "Eclectic" because that's exactly what this tape is. Combining elements of breakcore, jungle, broken beat, IDM, hip hop hardcore and obscure movie samples what Ian has done here is nothing short of astounding. This may sound like a mess of styles; and it would be in less capable hands. Ian, however, manages to blend them into the perfect mash-up of electronica. It must be heard to be believed. One criteria I use for judging a mix is track selection and placement. I'm constantly asking myself if the tracks flow nicely into one another. Does this track make *sense* after that last one. What makes Veinsplicer so compelling is the answer to that question is a hard YES even though the styles are so varied. Kudos, Ian! This is a masterpiece!
