I wonder who the guitarist is on Drinking Coco. I love that track!!

Yet another problematic Mondo release. I've had numerous warped titles, but this one was noisy as hell with Savage Rite on Side 2 being particularly bad (a very visible pressing defect). Sadly, I'm sticking to bone-fide audiophile releases from now on.

I can't think of any other example where the subject matter/artwork is in such conflict with the music.this soundtrack is a delight but the image on the inside of the gatefold makes me feel physically sick and gives me nightmares. In this instance one cannot exist without the other so I just choose to not look at the artwork if at all possible.incredible soundtrack though.

hey guys, can anyone tell me if this sounds better than the reissue remastered cd that came with the recent Grindhouse Releasing blu-ray set? im sure it does since its a LP and 180 gram but i just wanna hear some opinions if possible. thanks in advance. Long live Deodato! :D

Anyone else get a copy with a scratch on Track 8 Savage Rite? I ordered 2 copies (green vinyl) from them when this came out, they both had an identical, long scratch. When playing it, the tick is super loud for about a minute or so. Emailed them and they sent 2 more copies with the same scratch. They really fucked up on this one. Especially with the separate continental pressing you couldn't buy in N. America??

Yes, I just posted a comment but my copy has just gone back to the shop as it was noisy with track 8 being particularly bad, as per yours, by the sounds of it.

As a big fan of the movie, i'm more than happy with this amazing deluxe edition! The artwork, the poster…currently my fav. record :D

cool release..but a little bit short

Really glad Mondo decided to release a black wax version for retail. The music on here is just too beautiful and important to suffer the usual kindergarten vinyl color-hysteria.Black is best. Period!

+1 concur just happy to be able to groove watch this one.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I have the black version, and it sounds amazing. Thank you, Mondo!

Presentation wise, this is really the ultimate version of this soundtrack.. several prints of the various artwork concepts, gatefold, history, interviews and colour swirl vinyl that recalls the infamous 'turtle scene'.As a package it definitely captures the essence of the movie.Sound quality wise, when comparing it with my frequently listened 1995 CD version by Lucertola, this is a bit quieter but definitely still enjoyable, and a testament to one of Riz Ortolani's greatest works.Be careful when buying this from discogs: my first copy (bought direct from OWS) of this had noticeable pops during the opening theme, which the label were more than helpful in replacing.. I doubt you can have the same service buying on the resale market.

Shame there's no black.

Actually the copy I just picked up is black

This is a beautiful pressing. The green inferno vinyl really fits the album. One of the most haunting soundtracks of all time - one you will never forget!

Haunting, tense and emotive score to Ruggero Deodato's notorious exploitation shocker.Strange off-key instrumentation used to good effect and few funky tracks thrown in for good measure later in the piece.Perfect example of a score being WAY too good for the accompanying material!

And in 2 weeks time, we can all have it on vinyl!
