Message from A.L.N. considering this release:"Hello all,It's time I address this publicly. As you all know, it's been way too long since Joseph Merrick/Dying God started this vinyl project. I am not going to build on the current slander by speculating "what" I think Joseph is (addict, con-man, flake, etc.). Although the last update from him you all got was in November, he has since replied to me. I have done a lot of excavating of the situation, so to speak, ultimately coming to the conclusion that I must make this record myself. Though Joseph has made attempts to finish the record both to me and to Pirate's Press, he always again becomes unresponsive, showing no real signs of progress. For the past couple months, Pirate's Press and I have been hashing out a lot of emails and corrections in regards to this vinyl project. It has finally become concrete: a vinyl production funded and created entirely by me (A.L.N.) is underway. Joseph will likely never finish the record he started. He filled out the forms, paid the deposit, got test pressings (I have two!), approved the test pressings and.... receded from life, apparently. I know everyone is offended by this situation, but the details pertaining to Joseph and how he is failing honestly don't matter. The bottom line is this: I am making you all a new record - all people who purchased this record from Dying God will get one. When the time comes (please refrain for now), I will request PayPal/BandCamp/Storenvy receipts/email confirmations of purchase from all of you. Anyone who can provide this will have the opportunity to 'pay what he/she wants' for the record (at this point, you are more than welcome to enter $0). After settling as many of these cases as possible, I will open up the record sales to the public as well. This is going to be expensive. Not only did many people purchase the record already, they also paid for shipping. I will be shelling out 3,000 - 5,000 dollars to make up for Joseph's mistake. That being said, when the time comes I will list some rare items on my bandcamp page to help raise money, as well as open a donation line for any fans/friends that are feeling generous. I know most of you have already paid for this record and I don't want you to have to pay twice... even still it will be taxing to accommodate this and help is appreciated. I invite you to share/post this information. There are many reached by this email, but I personally don't have Joseph's sales records, so I want as many ears to be reached as possible. I wanted to apologize for this mess. This was NEVER what I had in mind. All of you who have followed me from the beginning know that Mizmor releases are always real, punctual, and worth it. This has hurt many people (of which, I assure you, I am chief), and I couldn't be more surprised and disappointed with this outcome. I regret meeting Joseph Merrick and allowing him to "create" this vinyl. The record release day is still a couple months away - you will be updated on its progress.
