The Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964-1971 mp3 album

Horrible pressing! Not very dynamic at all. Very flat sounding. Just a real mess! Early pressings and even the CD capture a much fuller, warmer, rich and detailed sound. Also "Time Is On My Side" is not the guitar version it's the organ version. Stay clear!

I have the impression that the songs in the record 1 sound like saturated, the bass is drowned, the treble is not sharp and the whistle is exaggerated. It does not mean that it is a bad press, it is that, comparing it with the released monkey mixes recently and its quality is impressive. Something similar happened to me with the presses in mono of the beatles, logically the best results are obtained reproducing them in a team with mono cartridge. Details are appreciated that in the stereo mix not.We must not forget that the mixtures were originally made in mono and later copies were made with false stereo or with second generation teachers, which affected the final result.So and everything is one of my favorite compilations, along with sucking in the 70's

Sadly someone needs to fix this whole issue with these highly collectible CDs from one of the greatest bands ever! This whole series is screwed up completely and it’s not correct at all! ANY of the UK made, “Original Editions-Vintage Vinyl Replica” CDs are completely counterfeit and even www.minilps.net considers then to be most likely counterfeit! I’ve seen these versions by Elton John, The Rolling Stones and. Others and will not buy them. Explain why it’s says specifically on the stickered front that”Item can not be imported to Japan”? Yet the booklet is in Japanese as well as the OBI. I’ve had the displeasure of listening to a few of these and they sound terrible compared to their Japanese counterparts! I’m sure there are many collectors who have the same opinion of these “Original Edition- Vintage Replica Series” Rip off CDs! The version I have has the stickered front as the rest of the Japanese made versions do! You collected the stickers and you would receive, while supplies lasted, a Disk Union Box as well as promo OBIs as well! Discogs has gotten strict about counterfeit listings, but these are not real either! I know the copy I own is authentic and Japanese produced as I know the source is a reputable source of authentic JAPANESE MINI LP CDS!I’m quite sure that many people have the authentic copy as well! It’s not the SHM copy either, but the copy remastered from the DSD analog tapes. So does anyone agree with this or do you think it’s not likely the series of “Original Edition - Vintage Vinyl Series is Counterfeit copies of the Japanese made copies where you collected the tabs and received a box from Disk Union? Just curious as I’ve purchased one Elton John and one Rolling Stone version and it doesn’t sound anything like the Japanese pressed mini lp cds!

Well, I have the "other" Shelley pressing - the repress - https://www.discogs.com/The-Rolling-Stones-Hot-Rocks-1964-1971/release/5311083 and it sounds muffled, not well mastered or pressed. No wonder the median price is only $8.

I usually try and stay away from compilations but this one is awesome! Grabs some of their best stuff and wraps it all up here. Great way to get into the Rolling Stones for any beginners out there.

This album pretty much cemented my future of being a Stones fan as I remember my Dad playing it on his turntable from around the age of five or six. As I got older I would observe that the songs were great but the sound quality wasn't as good as what I thought it could be but it was the 80's by then but I wasn't really yet aware of "mono" recordings and other audiophile things of that nature. This would have to be the album I could honestly say if you don't like it you won't ever like The Stones.

The sound on this album is the best in my entire collection of many, many remasters. Clear and marbled always seem to sound better imo. I know that is not supposed to matter but in my head it does.

I think clear sounds much better than a lot of th3 colored versions of many Vinyl albums! I too have the clear version as well as a Japanese version of this pressing! Of course the newer sounds better overall, but I have issues with seeing the starting of the songs on the other side and often place my tone arm down in the middle of a song. But it is an outstanding sounding repressing of this classic album!

I had this comp back in the 80's. I was so excited because it was the first album I'd really bought. At that time, I had only been into the Brian Jones-era of the Stones. At that point in my life, I didn't know about Mick Taylor. I had a lot to learn and research on my own. This is a great collection! So many more killer Stones out there. There's no definitive collection. But this is a great start!

Pressing is flat, clean, quiet, and sounds fantastic. Was 100% in when Paint it Black came on. Great remastering across the board.

Why is there 2 different front cover pictures with this version, one with sticker and one without? Did the mispress have the sticker or not, or is that not an indication one way or another? This would be important if someone has a sealed copy and does not want to open it...in other words no reason to open ands check if mispress can be ruled out simply by presence or not of the sticker.

Disc 1 has the following tracks in mono: play with fire; as tears go by; get off of my cloud'; mother's little helper; 19th nervous breakdown. Satisfaction is slightly remixed,with some sounds coming out of te right channel, but hardly deserves the stereo mention.

I have both this album and the "W" label version (http://www.discogs.com/Rolling-Stones-Hot-Rocks-1964-1971/release/3415585). Besides the difference of labels that has been noted, my copy of this version has "BEST" etched into the runout on both sides of each vinyl. Maybe that was a declaration from ABKCO? Hence this one being "BW"? It's the "B"est"W"?

I have a version of this with the same indications as in the Notes but it is no mispress. The only other difference is that on side four the date in the run out groove is "12-3-71" instead of 11-18-71. This version has the regular takes of "Brown sugar" and "Wild horses".
