Can't Set the Rules About Love was never released in the US. Instead the US division of MCA released "Rough Stuff" which was a commercial failure resulting in MCA (US) to release no further singles.

Released in 1990 as the follow up to his Top 20 US hit "Room At the Top," Adam Ant's ballad "Can't Set Rules About Love" had everything necessary to dominate the charts, but its release went by virtually unnoticed by many in America. Pulled from the album Manners & Physique, which promised pure "Ant" pop built around a Minneapolis R&B sound, the track found Adam Ant emotionally connecting to the song like he never had before. Sadly, the song was unsuccessful in the United States. In fact, it missed the Hot 100 entirely. It didn't fare much better in the United Kingdom where it stalled at number 47.Chart position rarely mirrors the quality of a song, and "Can't Set Rules About Love" is a testament to this. It remains on of my all time favorite ballads.
