I can only describe this record and their musical partnership as fantastic , This album has top quality songs , Production ,arrangements Etc . And ' some velvet morning ' Has to go down as one of the most haunting and beautiful songs ever recorded . You don't have to like this album , It's all down to personal taste , but it will always be regarded as a classic.

Yes, it is obvious that you have missed the point entirely of Nancy & Lee collaborating on this record. Rather than providing an intelligent and analytical review, 50 years after this album was recorded, you have only made yourself look very foolish by not understanding the subtle nuance of parody, the playful innocence of the arrangements and the extraordinary vocal range of Lee "Hazlewood'". There is nothing else quite like this album. That is what makes it worth listening to it today, rather than being lost in the crowd.

This album is either absolutely brilliant, or a travesty. My guess is the later. Perhaps these two met, had a romance, and said "hey, let's make a record together. " there is really no reason in the world why these two should be singing together, there is absolutely no chemistry or magic at all . The music and arrangements are all top-notch, classic late 60s LA sound, with a touch of Nashville . But as soon as you hear Lee Hazelton voice, you know you are in for a long tedious a ride . Even their duet on Jackson is hard to listen to, how you could screw up such a beautiful song is beyond me . I could only imagine father Frank's face when he first heard this turd ... Worth a listen to, but I dare you to listen to it more than once .

Hazlewood (not Hazelton) was Nancy Sinatra's producer, friend, and long time song-writer. He is also a man with one of the most interesting and underappreciated catalogs in music. As far as I know Lee and Nancy never had any 'romantic' anything - the classic Platonic friendship. Have more respect.

if you can't be bothered to correctly spell the names of the people you are attacking the rest of us can't be bothered to take your idiotic opinions seriously. There is evidence that Frank appreciated the genius of Lee Hazlewood, as did the many artists who had hits with his songs. I'm sure he also appreciated the profits from the sales of this LP and others Hazlewood make with NS. It was a hit.In short, your opinion is without understanding and I'm sure your record collection sucks.

Turd? I for one love Lee's singing. Frankly I thank the Lord that some music doesn't appeal to the guy who thinks this album should have embarrassed some fabricated notion of what Frank Sinatra was like. How dare you speak on his behalf. I am on the total opposite side of the fence as the guy who says this album is bad. That being said it is a bit of an anomaly. Compared to other country duet albums of the late 60 's it is down right unusual. Not country, not pop, not schtick, but all three trixated into a highly unique blend of the three. This album you must meet half way. The payoff is there. It is slicker than it first sounds. To call this album a turd is to undersell it and give away a tendency toward superficial listening practices.

I hope this is the right place to post (I'm quite new to discogs)... My copy of this release says "...INTERPRESS BLD 507 ..." on the Matrix. All other things seem to be identical. Does this justify to add a new release?
