At the end of the 80s heavy metal maintained an apparent distance from Pop world, despite some best sellers albums (especially AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne ones), thanks to violent and politically incorrect thrash movement. While a more visceral, ferocious and extreme sound was born (death metal), the most representative thrash metal band jumped into popular music world, killing a genre that, before then, always opposed to mass thinking.
