The chainmailcassette was a series of cassettes ubuibi sent out to a number of their mail music friends in 1987. The development of this recording is as follows: Big City Orchestra (Santa Cruz, CA) sends cassette of sampled infant cries to Agog (Northridge, CA) who adds more sampled sounds, bowed metal, snippets of radio and T.V., etc. He then mails it to Minóy (Torrence, CA) who added his trademark use of voice and shortwave radio. Minóy in turn sends this off to Bill McCandless of the Nar/Bang Utot cassette label (Huntsville, AL). This inspires Man Marries Cow, Bill's duo with Bo Parker, to base an entire C-60 release around the chainmailcassette. This is the unedited gem they produced.
