I remember hearing the Tek^tonik Remix back in 2005 on a Darren Tate mix album (DT8 Project ‎– Beyond Euphoria) and was blown away, listened to it again today and wow what a track, captures the spirit of the original but has a feeling of suspense throughout, very uplifting with a dark feel.

I Came Across This Tune After a Visit to My Local Cash Converters,Which Always Seems To Have a Couple ofBox's of Records on Sale. And I've Had Fuckin' Stacks of Them, For a Quid Each Usually. I've Found Some of My Favorite Rave Tunes in That Shop,Some Real Beauties, Like - Intense- Paradox and Genesis ep's and Fine Feline- The 9 Lives EP (sold that for £100)But The Best Tune I Found There Has to be, Moogwai - Viola 2005.A Truly Astounding Piece of Music. For Me it Has to be Side A - Tek^tonik Remix.I Never Thought Sunbeam - Outside World, Would Get Knocked Off It's Long Time No 1 Spot. But it Fucking Did, Shortly After Listening to Tek^tonlk's Remix of Viola For The First Time, It Had A Real Effect on Me,Emotional,Quite Moving, I Simply Could Not Stop Listening To it, I Probably Included it in Every Mix I Did For A Year.I Don't Have Enough Knowledge of the English Language to Analyse the Tune Bit by Bit, So I Wont Try.What I Will Say is I FUCKING LOVE VIOLA, A TOP FUCKING TUNE!

I don't know why KodomoNaAtarashi speaks badly of both tracks. The Brisky remix is pretty average and doesn't build on the original but the Tek^tonik remix is that one that does amazing justice for Viola, it's so energetic and emotional at the same time due to the vocals at 4:07 which make this track unique. Even though I'm an Armin van Buuren fan I have to be honest and say that this Tek^tonik remix is the best version of Viola!

Yeah mate,to be honest AVB's remix is utterly boreing and isn't worth mentioning when if you own the 2005 release, the Brisky tune is good but is not even close to the league that Tek^tonik is producing in!

Well I can't take anything away from the original as it lays the rock solid foundations of something great, nevertheless the Tek^tonik remix is still uniquely and probably equally as great.

nothing can beat the original mix...

While Viola (original) is definately a classic in it's own right, esp. as a melodic track. As for remixes, the Tek^tonik Remix captures the essence of Viola (true with only 1 melody) but adds a different, modern kick and a very unique and eerie vocal intro that is laided throughout the track. The "specialness" of viola is that it's Epic AND melodic at the same time, and I feel the Tek mix sticks with the melodic nature only. Worth a listen.

When I discovered that this tune, one of my all-time favorites, had been updated with new remixes, I immediately seeked them out to see if the tune had been done justice...and it hadn't. These remixes are disgraceful. Whilst the original was an excellent melodic trancer with several understated melodies that bounce back and forth, these mixes almost entirely use only one of the melodies -- and even change it slightly, ultimately giving the track a really strange off-balance feel. It sounds like they tried to turn it into some sort of dutch epic tune, but didn't quite finish that and just threw it out as-is. Go get the original mix, instead.
