you secret
A truly immersive album from a talented artist who at this time(time of writing 2012) remains a mystery? A smart and creative techno-house(+) listen that excites and enthralls as it emerges you into its slow, to more rhythmic-beat driven, dense/warm architectural sound, that is also quite forward thinking. Urban-neon minimal 4/4 Detroit influenced techno, german electronic experimentalism, grime patterns and hooks that submerge and tangle themselves with angular rhythmic shifts along with pocket-shots of tight dub bass, shades of proto-house, and dynamic ambient futuristic overtones and sonics bring some wonderful interesting dynamic to the music that will submerge you into its complex techno-house sound. Tracks are partly split at times adding a sense of development that takes the the album forward with its well designed momentum building that kicks-in at certain points, and at the right time, while also keeping within the tight framework architecture and (not over)minimalistic style of the album. Atmosphere and moods impress, esp if you enjoy deep-thought listening, while also bringing a certain urban city futurism and experimental feel to it that at times can be associated, or sit somewhere in-between, and even influenced by sounds and music by the likes of Detroit Escalator Co, early Plaid, Carl Craig, Terrance Parker and even the experimental techno that wouldn't feel out of place on a Monolake album/EP.A excellent release and a worthy purchase for me!
