Just a fun tidbit about this record from an interview with Aphex Twin: "I learned a lesson when I was a kid. When I was about 16 my best friend had this Mike Dunn record Tracks That Move Ya, an eight tracker acid thing. We were in Cornwall and he had been up to London and bought two copies of it. There was no way I could get that record because I'd have to go to London, there was no internet back then, and then he said I'll sell it to you for 30 quid. 30 pound then was like 100 grand to me. I remember giving it to him and he gave me the record and he looked at me like "you're such an idiot" for paying that much. I was like "yeah but I've got this amazing record and you've just got pieces of paper in your hand."

Glorious record released on a fine label. Muzique released some belters early on and I loved them all. I remember buying MD Connection when it first arrived in the UK. The tracks, Self Preservation and Laser Scan were my favourites but all the LP was strong. One of the best Chicago records of the era...Would love to see a MD Comp with all these early tunes collected...Timeless music that never dates.....

get out of the panorama bar and sample life.. this is 'hypnotic' house in it's finest hour.

"fillers", "dated", "useless", not playable? I don't know what's up with you people. For me these are 8 straight killers, completely timeless. Fantastic record.

After reading the other reviews i had to comment myself. This release is one of the finest examples of Chicago House recorded. All the tracks are great though i have my favorites. Firstly Magic Feet - most people are more familiar with the acid version but i love this brutal, lo-fi original mix. Next Soothe My Soul, this was a big track at Steve Bicknell's infamous Lost parties in London, a very heavy acid track. Next The M Rules - great lead synth line. i heard this out recently and on a big system this track killed it! Lastly Self Preservation, another acid bomb from Mr Dunn, then again he is a master of the 303 - just check his other tracks like MD3, Personal Problems and Born to Freak with Steve Poindexter. Timeless music that people will still play and be inspired by for many years to come.
