Pierre Moerlen's Gong - Time Is The Key mp3 album

i have a few gong vinyl from the time when they became more instrumental and serious jazz , i consider "shamal" , "gazeuse" etc to be pierre moerlens gong even though they are just named "gong" .it might have been more accurate to have called the band "mireille bauer's gong during this phenomenal time of creativity as the albums are xylophone/vibraphone/marimba percussive masterworks.anyhoo , on first listen of this album i got the impression that the band were intentionally dumbing themselves down or even phoning it in when comparing it to their other mostly instrumental albums that are my favourite jazz albums of all time.onto side two and things get more complex and interesting as far as blistering drums/percussion and even a slick guitar solo.if you are expecting another gazeuse with mind melting drums, percussion and guitar solos then maybe you won't think much of this on the first few listens. i found myself flipping this for some hours in succession with the volume going louder each time and each listen i fell more in love with it.i can't help but rate it 5/5 .for me this era of the band can do no wrong!
