Couple of obvious ones.. Also samples the main part from Brainkiller's 'Screwface' as the basis for the first drop on 'Jamaica'.. & General Levy's timestretched 'Junglist' vocal from the Drum 'n' Bass version of 'Incredible'... Getting geeky in my older age with all these apostrophes
Brialelis
A) 'Tenement Yard Jungle' and AA) 'Jamaica' thanks to the repress.

reckon Arthur should be released from behind bars and a certain other person should be locked up for his price hiking

Absolute banger, reminds me of the scene back in the day. Has Slim stopped producing? No one else has created that sound.

This was the first jungle tune I produced back in the day with Slim Jim at Shoreditch studios, production is all over the place and messy as hell lol and we stacked it with samples galore. Only pressed 300 copies i think..Still got a few copis knocking around on vinyl.
uspeh
got any copies for sale? i would def buy at decent price...;)
Kiutondyl
Have the DAT's by any chance?? Would gobble up a repress :)

If you've got a copy you'd be up for selling at a sensible price let me know.

Hi Alan. Thanks for info. Long time unknown and most wanted ep. If possible can you remember track titles?

The AA side is just incredible. An absolute must hear.
Fast Lovebird
the soundclash dj/mc on track AA sounds like the guy who used to mc for silverhawk back in 92

2 absolutely mad tunes from Jet Star with the standard minimal amount of information and seemingly a very limited pressing. Does anyone know who's behind these releases, I'm sure it's not all the same producer but I reckon there were only a few people cooking these white labels up for Jet Star, DJ Stretch on this one perhaps?Onto the tunes, side A starts with "Dreadlocks living in a tenement yard" sample from Jacob Miller's "Tenement Yard" it then builds into some mental breaks and eventually drops into a smooth R&B sample taken from Total's 'Can't You See (Feat. Notorious B.I.G.), only the female vocals are used but it provides a smooth juxtaposition to the ruff breaks. The intro to KRS 1's 'South Bronx' also makes a few brief appearances. It's a crazy tune but there are some great moments. Great if you wanna slip some R&B smoothness into your mix.The AA side is probably my favourite of the 2 tunes and even more manic than the first. It starts with the enigmatic "hey hey hey" sample from Capleton's "Everybody Need Somebody" then jumps to an operatic vocal singing "Jamaica" which has been lifted from a recording of the Jamaican national anthem, then into what sounds like a soundclash intro of a Deejay introducing a set combined with a smooth rare groove sample from Love Unlimited Orchestra - "Strange Games & Things". The track then kicks off with a Scarface sample "You wanna play rough? Say hello to my little friend", an air raid siren and Buju Banton ranting over the frantic beats. In proper schizophrenic jungle style it then flips to a vocal sample and reworked bass from Red Fox And Naturalie's "Down In Jamaica" switching between Buju and Red Fox alternately and peppered by gunshots. It's a mad ride but lots of fun.Considering the limited availability (and generally poor pressing quality) of these releases and the fact that Jet Star have been bought up by a bigger parent company hopefully someone will consider making the Jungle catalogue available digitally in the future. However, considering all the unlicensed sampling this may be an impossibility.P.S. Do not be put off by the 2004 remixes, they've got nothing on the originals!

The chances of the jetstar jungle catalog being available? i'd say between bob hope and no hopeThe company long time has been dissolved as you know, the infamous jet star lock up in acton been plundered by some swiss reggea company, i dont remember the name it was something like reggae first or something who took all the recs, yeah all the rights where brought up by phoenix music, who are bigger but seem very very small fry to me, i did contact them about this very said issue, but it was a dead end, i very much doubt they have anything the boys from jetstar were notoriously unorganized and slapdash, it was a badly run
Kashicage
one of the better jetstar jungle tunes, not as good as elt1 but then again what is?
