This performance was recorded at Detroit's newly reconstructed Henry and Edsel Ford Auditorium on November 8, 1956, using only three microphones - left, center and right - to a 3-track Ampex 300-3 running half inch tape.The 3-track tape was then mixed down to 2-track stereo on 1/4" tape.
2-track Mercury Living Presence "Seeing-Ear" Stereophonic Tape Recordings are 1:1 duplicates of a first generation copy of the two-channel master tape.
