Alien
Lest we forget Gene Ammos' Jungle Strut is used heavily on the endangered species remix...
FLIDER
I would say Norman Connors "Mother Of The Future" would be the primary sample used in this track.
Gavirus
It can hardly be called inspiration, more a rip-off of the Wayne Shorter's Ping-Pong.The original jazz track is often played by Art Blakey and its band, with Wayne Shorter on saxophone, back in the early 60s.
Hurus
I second that : more a rip-off of many things than anything else. Also, when you listen to Gene AMMONS masterpiece "Jungle strut" https://www.discogs.com/Gene-Ammons-Jungle-Strut-Madame-Queen/master/443431, truly brilliant, you tell yourself you can ignore / forget about this track.
Jarortr
Agree. Remember picking this up as an obscure white back in the day. A nice little jazz-house re-work IMO and it introduced me to both Wayne Shorter and Norman Connors music too.
Yellow Judge
this is a great re-work/rip--from the original piece, to help re-introduce or in some cases introduce classic jazz fusion to a new era and generation of hip kids that may not be hip to this type of culture of music.this type of fusion of sound helps people to get a chance to get exposed an african cultural experience while celebrating the art of dance & not realizing that they are even being exposed to it---love it love it love it !!!!!!!!
