John Coltrane - Coltrane Jazz mp3 album

Happy to share my pressing of this LP sounds crystal clear with pronounced bass and no surface noise. Can't imagine beating this.

bernie grundman remastered hendrix if my memory serves me correct it was a 2lp set might have been jimi hendrix blues sadly it was digitally remastered so i sold it.i dont want sonically inferior digital vinyl with multiple criminal overdubs for my so called listening pleasure vinyl = exact analogue master or no sale...

I question whether this is the original mono pressing released with its Broadway address. My copy of this album, exactly the same, but with the previous 157 West 57th Street address.

Bad stereo scene: piano and saxophone in the left chanel, bass and drums in the left chanel, and nothing between. Unpleasant on headphones. The double bass lacks profoundness.

As with some other LPs from Atlantic, the double-bass lacks the profoundness., so the CD sounds better. On my copy with same barcode, on the back cover it is wrote "Manufactured in EU". This release seems identical with John Coltrane - Coltrane Jazz

All of Coltrane's albums as leader for Atlantic are essential. This, his second, contains the standout track "Village Blues" which is the first to feature his classic group with Mccoy Tyner and Elvin Jones. The rest features the Freddie Freeloader, Kind of Blue ensemble minus Davis and Adderley, and is all seriously solid, must have Jazz.

Picked up a copy of this for 10 pounds, sleeve reproduction is very nice and it's a decent pressing. Recommend.

I doubt this is ever pressed as bullseye in US, it has to be european pressing. Does anyone have more info?

While the posthumous Like Sonny is the first commercial release to include a Coltrane line-up with pianist McCoy Tyner, Coltrane Jazz is the first "official" release in the saxophonist's cannon to do so.Recorded in '59 and '60, but released in 1961, Coltrane Jazz is Trane's second record under his Atlantic contract (which soon enough would morph into his epochal deal with Impulse!). These recordings are the first that came out in his lifetime to feature the initial versions of his classic quarter: Trane, Paul Chambers, Tyner and Elvin Jones. There were other line-ups on individual tracks but it is "Village Blues", with Tyner, Jones and bassist Steve Davis that stands out.Coming after his innovative Atlantic debut Giant Steps, the worst that can be said of the music on Coltrane Jazz is that it is extremely solid, bluesy bop. A landmark recording for most any other musician is a fine transitional record for Trane.
