SOMEBODY has to say SOMETHING about this thing. What about how it is a brilliant fusion of post rock and sound design? Or how it deconstructs the song and stretches it across both analog terrain and digital prospects, completely blurring the two worlds? Or how it is at once so unbelievably obtuse and scattered yet so organically aligned and cohesive? Or about how it is a stellar debut album, a defining experiment of the 90s that no artist or band has been able to branch off from yet? The path in these modern sonic woods stops here and has yet to go further. Where else it could go, I have no clue, and I don't think we will ever know.Oh well- at least we know it goes this far. That alone is worth it.

Totally agree! Bought it about 13 years ago for about £1 on a whim and it totally blew my mind, intense post-rock experimentalism that is actually deeply (and repeatedly) listenable. In some ways I see it as an logical extension of Talk Talk's last couple of albums with a sort of Labradford-esque twist. I had a brief look into the bands later career which seems to plough a more conventional indie rock furrow, but whatever this stands alone a masterpiece and it should be a cult classic (if it isn't already).
