Wow! Thomas Barnett's "The Original Day" is (was) a lost classic that really must be heard. Rich phat synth sounds and drums are brought together in an epic swirling dancefloor monster that also has the subtlety to work in the living room, at least for true techno-heads. Taks me back to the first time I heard his "Subterfuge" 12" on Infonet - there's a quality about "The City" that this track shares.Eamonn Doyle's track on the B is less immediate for me, but high quality nonetheless, a restrained tech-house vibe with a simple acoustic guitar sound, and a spoken sample about Denial being the default behaviour.Thank goodness for the digging that went into re-releasing these obscure tracks. Now to check out the others, or the CD...
