Naa
Let me start by saying that I am sooooo damn lucky to be owning this ultra rare album EP. (Many thanks to a dear friend/mentor, Suhaimi Subandie). It was re-issued in conjunction with We Set The Pace : A Retrospective STOMPIN' GROUND exhibition at The Substation Gallery from 23rd to 25th October 2012. Stompin' Ground, formed in 1988, undeniably are the pioneers in the Lion City Hardcore scene. I didn't get the chance to own any of their albums but have attended several gigs which they performed when I was still a teenager in the 90s. Fell in love immediately with their diversity in the pounding riffs as well as their raw energy on stage. The band consists of guitarist/songwriter Suhaimi Subandie, bassist Syed Mahdzar, drummer Ayong and Mohammad Hafidz on vocals, started their own legacy by introducing their own local brand of hardcore music to Singapore and some parts of Southeast Asia. This album is just awesome and whenever I hold it in my hands, it felt like holding to a piece of history. A history that I am really proud of.
