A really good album, from the beggining until the end.Kölsch starts with Goldfish and Opa, two of his most famous musics. We could ask ourselves how he could maintain the level -because those songs are really good-, and the awnser is in Der Alte, Oma, Zig, Eiswinter, and more than that in Basshud. All those parts of this albums are really worth it, are what we want from that kind of music: energising, groovy, rousing, melodic and powerful.

1977 starts off with such a huge burst of joy in "Goldfisch," that it's difficult for the album to maintain that, but Kölsch does his best. Still, that first track, with its solid groove and irrepressible energy, still stands out. "Opa," with its more electro leanings, keeps the energy from flagging, as does the old-school piano house of "Der Alte." "The vocals on "All That Matters" lean in a pop direction, but the build of "Silberpfeil" lets in a more unique vibe, as do the deeper beats of "Oma." But the closer, "Felix," ends the album on a track that successfully bridges pop harmonies and disco-tech beats. It's enough to take you back to 1977 again and again.
