Notes
You are hereby cordially invited to accompany Mr. Fist on a journey into the heart of darkness. While the theme for this collection lurks deeply in the shadows, the experience is surprisingly accessible thanks to the presence of some brooding yet infectious grooves wrapped up in surreal and swirling shrouds of sonic psychedelia. The depths are never quite fathomable and some things will go "bump" in the night, but don't be afraid. We all end up in the same place. This collection presents six extended, down-tempo, dubbed out psychedelic grooves buttressed by five semi-rhythmic sonic experiments tied together by the use of drones and deep atmospheres. These provide background for the crushed, smudged and blurred grooves which are then augmented by the incidental, accidental meanderings of the spirits evoked during this process.
All of this work, every single bit of it, is of absolutely no value. It has no permanence, no future, no hope. It will cease to exist at some point and there is no escaping that reality. Oxide will flake off of tapes, metal celluloid in CDs will rust and decay. There is no permanent storage medium capable of preserving even a single bit of it. It may be copied and distributed, but even this is not permanent. Copies fade, corrupt, fail.
The greatest achievements of humanity are nothing and all eventually fade into oblivion. This work is no great human achievement, so it is less than nothing. All of it temporal, temporary illusion and gone in the blink of a cosmic eye. History cannot contain the past. It can only make up stories of probabilities. The true events are always lost in the black.
