From Bill's Dreamsville website:
"Mazda Kaleidoscope is an instrumental album issued on the Sonoluxe label in a single print run of 1000 copies.
The album was recorded as the third and final part of a trilogy of complementary releases, the associated albums being Silvertone Fountains and Illuminated at Dusk."

With Nelsons 1980's and 90's work you got either vocal/pop albums or experimental/ambient works with his more recent work you cannot always make such an easy distinction. This album is a case in point, it is non-vocal and at times very "ambient" but also has jazz guitars and pop elements making it more of an easy-listening experience than anything else.Bit clichéd in parts, and not one of his best but not a bad album by any means either and like most such albums you do not really mind having it pumped from your server to the speakers, but seldom becomes your first choice for such listening either.A must buy for the hardcore BN fan, an interesting purchase for fans of subtle jazz guitar playing, for everyone else it is recommended that you start the Bill Nelson experience somewhere else.
