Definitely a creative use of the classic T-Connection "After Midnight" drum loop, and probably does a nice job in the club, but pretty dated.
Kazimi
Lesser known gem from 1990 - holds up better than most. Dark with proper samples of it's day and nice and loud on a 45 rpm pressing. Good stuff if you respect the OG sound.

The rap version is total crap imo. Takes away the deepness, darkness & credibility of the instrumentals. Head for the other mixes if you like it deep, dark & dangerous. Excellent & well underrated for sure. Just to add, I disagree with the previous reviewer calling it deep house. The techno style used on the release page is the correct one imho rather than deep house (if we're talking about the instrumentals that is). Has bags of energy with a futuristic edge which is seldom found in traditional deep house. Still deep though - deep techno or techno house perhaps (for those wondering - NOT TECH HOUSE though - GEDDIT???) :P

this record is a weapon and puts me under fire every time i listen to it again.a highly underrated record, and in my opinion too many people criticize it for it's "sterile" or "missing sounds" what really does not describe the quality of this record that definitely tells a story and is far more innovative than most of the (pseudo) deep house that a lot of talentless producers and djs with no vision or passion use to hide the pointless direction they are drifting in .. and one of those records that really takes me back in a far more inspiring time .. lovin' it..!and those who like the record i'd recommend dr. franz - new life, new civilization (1991). same criticism and same underrated by many, but full of futuristic energy as it should be ..
