Warning to the melatonin-challenged: this track is "TOO BLACK...TOO STRONG!" I've never even heard the so-called A-side; all the jocks and collectors I learned from treated "Stick Together" as THEEE cut on this rare 12" single. I distinctly remember the first time it was played for me, I was told "This will probably be "too black" for you." I accepted the challenge. They were right...sort of. The intro to this masterpiece is about as soulful and funky as possible, especially for 1977. Only "true" soul-lovers, of any skin-color, will appreciate. Well I've been listening to soul music since I got my first am radio in 1963, but even I had a hard time "getting" this. But after my third listen, I was hooked. In addition to growing on you, the song just builds and builds and is full of drama and tension and killer musicianship, culminating in so much funky/groovy energy that your head will explode. This is a "must-own" Disco-Soul monsterpiece.
Whatever
"Melatonin-challenged" would be one who likely has difficulty sleeping due to a melatonin deficiency. I think you meant "melanin," which defines skin pigmentation. :)
