Very good album, very good music. High singing, good vocals. Groovy+dangling+strong+epic+good basslines. Modern Funk at its best!! Do some more music like this, Psychic Mirrors... If you want to, but yeah. I'd love it!

One of the tracks samples/covers an obscure boogie track. I think it's shock treatment... John Boogie at Groove Merchant was playing the original and I pointed it out. Anyone know?

By far, the best record of the year. Crisp and clear in production and very much so mentally/visually descriptive as if were actually the score for an actual low budget horror flick. It's a refreshing take on what Modern Funk can be. Glad I found out about it a few days after the pressings were released as it WILL be considered a classic in upcoming years.

sweeeet stuff! another outstanding record by Psychic Mirrors. best contemporary boogie around. authentic style and quality production. it would have been nice to see this album on two vinyls i think. but anyway, brilliant work again. thanks!

hi, this is an incredible boogie/funk burner, but my copy isn’t flawless. can anyone diagnose this recurring, scratchy noise during – for example – the last grooves of side a as well? is it a poor pressing? there is very little surface noise apart from these loud noises...

Just bought one (near mint) and I got a bit disappointed by the press quality too. Mine pops at some points and surface noise is well noticeable in the quieter bits (intros-outros)

My copy is the same. It must be the pressing.

Played this at home to a friend who’s really not music addicted and far from informed about the music actuality, new styles, or something like. We were sitting and drank a coffee. A various funk playlist on my computer was the background music during our discussion and 2 tracks of this record were played : Island Girl and Shock Treatment. Then, the guy stopped me just after these tracks and asked : « killer ! what’s that shit ?! ». I've insisted : « do you really like ? ». He approved again with a headbanging. He has felt a private sound. He wanted to know more. The record was just here, close at hand on the sofa with some news other shit. I showed him the cover and talked about this Miami band. Put the vinyl on the turntable for a full listening. He ended up with all his body dancing at the end of the B side and ready for another play ! Maximum effect guaranteed from this unreleased funk-fiction. Obscure boogie soundtrack and 2016 favorite funk from a great (and big) band as it’s difficult to find nowadays. Far from laptop only and alone producers. Unlimited potential from friendly collaborations. More than musicians but also script writers. A music with stagings. By nature something to be shared : that’s the definition of music ! Thanks ;)

Agree...very funky album indeed! Not sure I love the vocals though...but the production is TIGHT.

Hands down this is the coolest record ever made. I have never heard anything this fresh, and even if the music was complete garbage I would still buy this just for the brilliant sleeve.
