Foginn
While this is a very good minimal house compilation overall, without a lesser track to be found, one piece stands out amongst the rest. Oliver Hacke's "Lächel" is a stunning electronic composition. On a par with Closer Musik's "Maria" (and that's saying something), the track slowly builds and crescendos with a glorious minimal and melodic grace. You can always tell when a song is in the highest class when it crosses over to people who don't listen to that particular genre. Many friends of mine dislike techno but love this song. Absolutely blew my mind upon release and like "Maria", it holds up unbelievably still. Easily one the best tracks of the era.
