This is an almost forgotten masterwork in the Jazzy Pop Vocals field. There is everything: from the swinging By Myself to the brilliant But Not For Me to the introspective Mean To Me. Mrs. Whiting knows what she is singing about. Just check her rendering of All The Sad Young Men, compare it with the versions by Sylvia Syms or Carmen McRae and You know what I mean. An extra asset are the fine arrangements by Marty Albam ( a shame that he is not mentioned in the liner notes) and this is truly an all time 5-stars vocal LP.
