Oh god I nearly chocked and spat my coffee out this morning SLY Stereo France 7" what utter nonsense impossible add the word "Fake" and I may believe you.Facts:The stage tapes were wiped after SLY was finally mixed and spliced and cut from umpteen edits to create the mono single. It was not untill 1966 when a compilation album of oldies but goldies was in the pipline as a new christmas albunthey knew about LMD being 100% always mono and both Ringo and Andy White versions, SLY came as a bolt out of the blue that too was now 100% mono forever!(Really important to note that various USA recording engineer experts have created a faultless Stereo mix of SLY using the one channel backing track from the stereo German language release and the on the other the mono UK english vocal, hours and hours of tweaking digital extraction correcting the slight out of tempo edits making the UK single and bang! SLY as it should and would have been in Stereo, This should be finally recognized by UMG/Calderstone and can easily be the official version, it sounds amazing and is dead easy to find on line, knocks that very basic hi and lows fake mix created in 1966 out of sheer desperation and of course total embarrassment to George Martin re something that should never have happened wiping and or loosing such important tapes!)This vile looking label single must be that fake mixed version obviously marked up as stereo master tape for Oldies But Goldies Collection>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> who knows, only that this is not and can not be stereo!
