Melodica Music Stores produced and distributed the vinyl record MR 001. It was a good time for the coastal Swahili artists and bands that were cropping up with their new genre. Taarab style always had their influence all over Kenyan culture. Perhaps we misjudged the market again as it goes when one is trying a new trend. Sales of the MR 001 were very low in comparison to mainstream releases that we made in indigenous Taarab music. But who's complaining ... any beat is Universal and by it's own the beat does go on.
