Notes
Word2Soul was a large, collaborative effort of gospel singers and rock musicians, based in Williamsport PA. It was the brainchild of songwriter-lyricist Amy Mintzer, who partnered with singer-songwriter-producer Johnny J. Blair to record her ideas. Blair described it as "like an Alan Parsons Project for gospel singers." Musically, the music quoted old school funk/soul, classic rock, Latin rock, urban gospel, and reggae. This is the debut CD of the project, culled from recordings sessions that spanned from 2000 to 2003. Notable musicians include blues-rock guitarist Chris Bovard, guitarist Tim Breon (Davy Jones, David Rose), and gospel singer Monette Newsuan. It was reissued as a download album in 2012 with 4 additional bonus tracks.
