When I bought this CD in the mid 90s, I was all into moody ambient stuff (FSOL, Biosphere, Banco da Gaia) and Manna fits right into that category. The warmth of the sound, yet the rawness of some tones make it exciting to listen to. Somehow, when I listen to this album, some part still catch me by surprise, while right after that I have this 'ah, right, that's what was coming'-feeling.One of my favourite 'weird' albums.

this is one of those bands in the mid 90's who tried to integrate electronics with guitars and stuff. i remember thinking when i bought this cd (in '95?), "well this sounds really cheesy in alot of ways but for some reason i like it". i think they're one of those bands that obviously has (technical? raw?) musical intelligence, yet many people (myself included) find them kinda cheesy... but at the same time seductive. plus, it was an apollo release with nice packaging (the gray cd slides into a white embossed cardboard sleeve), so it's pretty cool.
