Dynamize, Blue Motion - Friday Night (Vibrant Scientists Remix) / Flying High mp3 album

Glad I got this when first released and didn't have to pay secondhand prices. I'm surprised only 100 were pressed; even though Blue Motion and Dynamize aren't jungle-household names, the sheer quality and beauty of the sounds could have moved more units. That airy slide-guitar sample on the A-side brings me right back to Good Looking circa '99 a la Big Bud and Rantoul. Very dreamy and ethereal, yet the break (reminiscent of Adam F's Circles in EQ and patterning) keeps "Friday Night" lively enough for dance floors. Piano melts in gorgeously behind the pads and guitar, creating a very well-rounded new-school atmospheric mover. B side is a lovely compliment, with piano and bassline playing off one another right from the drop. Swooshing pads and very subtle horns make for a very good B-side, however it's not as good as the A. Must-have plate for those who appreciate livelier atmospheric DnB, but I'd watch out for greedy flippers...I smell em right around the corner.
